About

Anna Mikhaylova has taught across all ages of our classrooms over the past several years. This year, she teaches in one of the toddler classrooms and the three-year-old classroom. Anna, like so many of our staff, is a Preschool alumni parent who knows firsthand how special the Billy Dalwin Preschool community is to young families. She volunteered and served as a room parent when her three children were at the school.

Anna enjoys reading to kids and doing art projects with them, too. She says, “Often, I try to connect the story in a book to an art project. Many kids, even those who do not always like art projects, are more excited to participate if the art activity connects to the story or some character in a book they just read. Any art project is an opportunity to practice fine motor skills, math skills, critical thinking skills, early reading skills, and many other essential skills kids have to develop. Developing a positive emotional connection to learning at an early age can facilitate learning in the child’s future.”

Anna’s favorite book is Shabbat Puppy. “The book teaches that Shabbat is a family time and time for peace. It also teaches what, for me, is one of the most important qualities we can teach our children—patience. In the book, even the very rambunctious and enthusiastic puppy Mazel, with some patience, learns how to be calm, and the little boy discovers that, with some patience, you can achieve your goal.”

Anna earned a B.S. in Biology from Suffolk University and completed several online classes in Elementary Education from Western Governors University and Becker College School of Graduate and Professional Studies. Recently, Anna earned her lead teacher license.
